ATMs for gas stations
A gas station is mostly a convenience store with pumps out front, so most of what I'd say is on the convenience store page. The short version is below.
I place the machine for free and bolt it down inside, near the counter. I load the cash, change the paper and handle repairs myself. You don't pay for any of it. The person taking out cash pays the surcharge, and you get a monthly deposit with a statement for your share, either a cut of each surcharge or a flat amount per withdrawal.
If there's already a machine in the store
That's the usual case. Send me the last statement from whoever runs it. I'll tell you plainly whether switching would pay you more, and if it wouldn't, I'll tell you that too. More on that on the existing ATM page.
Some owners ask whether more cash sales cut their card fees. It can, a little, and I wrote about it in ATM fees vs. card fees.
